*sigh* This will have to do, I guess. I really wanted to color this with markers, but I'm sure I'm just going to color it digitally because of all the lack of details in certain spots (Eliot, Milo, and Kera are so small!). If I really get the marker itch, though, I'll just edit out everyone else and marker Jason and Liana n_n~

Jason hoisting Liana up to put the star on the Christmas tree! I'm not sure how much I like this sketch (I see a lot of stuff wrong with it) but I definitely want to actually FINISH this picture or one similar to it! :]

I'm going to try to draw more Holiday pics as well, but we'll see ^__^ Enjoy!

Welp, unfortunately I couldn't get this done in time, but at least I tried. My, er, preliminary contest sketch for a club I'm in. With the holidays I have a lot of other artwork that I need to do and I needed to prioritize a little bit~I do intend on finishing something with Percy and Nico eventually, but right now it's not even an option! AT LEAST I TRIED!!!

Rar. I used Copic and Prismacolor markers, white gel pen, and pan soft pastels. The picture took me around 8 hours from start to finish, which is the longest I've ever worked on a marker picture. I even did it spread over two days which is actually unheard of for me. I like to finish the picture I'm doing right after I've started it~

I never actually thought of using pastels with markers until I saw this tutorial. Another tutorial which I found helpful because I love the "lineless style" is this tutorial. Then I realized she uses pastels with her work too. Ha. The crazy things you learn.

I think you'll see a lot more traditional work from me now that I feel like I've gotten a pretty good handle on the markers :]]

Contest Skech

Sketch of a contest piece I'm doing in markers~
The object of the contest is to do something traditionally only using the hues of one color and I picked green. I also found out I'm kind of lacking in green markers. Haha.

Anyway, Gretaaa!!! <3 she's so cute. I'm really happy with this so far. It took me, like, 2 hours to sketch because I was being picky. Pickiness pays off sometimes, I guess! haa. I will post the finished marker piece when I'm done!!!

Day 25 (finally) & Duuuumppp

<-Day 25. I told you it was a boring Sasha bust. As you can see by the little TT__TT in the corner, I was tired ^^;


<-This was initially supposed to be a Halloween picture, but I abandoned it. Jason, Alex, and Sasha all dressed up like they're godly parents. Don't Jason and Alex look oh so happy? I think Sasha's the only one who doesn't actually mind being dressed up like her Dad. So there's a lightning bolt for Jason (yes, it really is a lightning bolt, I swear!), the Helm of Darkness for Alex (again, I swear!), and a trident for Sasha.

-> New character concept. She's Eliot and Tony's younger sister, Casey. Her real name is Cassidy, but when she was little she couldn't say it right so it came out "Casey". Cute, yeah? ^^ Anyway, like Eliot, she has heterochromia but hers is the more noticeable one: one blue eye, one brown. She's very much a tomboy, loves to hike (hence hiking boots) and she's a wonderful archer (I need bow practice...). Instead of music, though, she's more of an artist. I'm going to have a lot of fun with this character...^__^ Unfortunately, she won't be debuting until the end of Book II either.

<- Eliot and Liana inside the Jeep when Jason's going nuts outside. Liana's frightened so Eliot is singing to her. First to heal her, then because she asked him to. I have no intention of finishing this sketch.



<-Kera and Milo because Devin wanted me to. Milo's hair still gives me so much trouble, but I really like how Kera turned out. I might finish this one eventually.

I love this so so much. And I'm so pumped to finish it. I just don't have enough energy right now :[

You see, Sasha and Alex are having some issues in the story...unfortunately I can't give you any details (spoilers!!!) but I assure you they still do love each other. A lot. See? Their hands are reaching for each other. Speaking of which, I need to fix Alex's hand.

I'm super pleased, especially with the fact that Alex looks more like a 17 year old boy with his shorter hair. Thank you "I Like It" music video for inspiration to give him a haircut!

I hope to finish this sometime soon! So keep your eyes peeled on dA!

Bamboo Tablet, Paint Tool SAI - I used a larger pencil size for the linework for bolder lines. I really like the way it looks and I look forward to experimenting a bit more with that when the time comes.

Firstly, it's really amazing how golden it looks here on Devin's laptop and how...reddish it looks on my laptop.

Getting that out of the way...this is NOT Sasha. It's Greta (Sasha has more green in her eyes). It's okay they look alike, though, cuz they're sisters. Ha. So yeah, Greta's been beaten as you can see and the gold has a lot of significance that I don't want to say because it's kind of a spoiler!!! I'm not sure why she's in...liquid of some sort, but it probably has to do with her being Sasha's sister. I don't really know, I just made it look pretty. Oh, and she has a greenish glowy highlight because she possesses the spirit of Delphi.

Day 26-31 extras!

->Sasha manipulating water like the daughter of Poseidon she is. I like this picture, but I need to fix her right arm, like, right now.

<-I saw this pose and I really, REALLY wanted to draw it. The girl in the picture had ripped jeans, so I made it Sasha. So many Sashas!







^-Jason and Liana. You see, Liana had made a move on Jason, and, although he didn't mind, said he said wasn't ready for anything. This is a few weeks after said conversation. Spoiler: He doesn't kiss her at that moment. It's cute anyway, yeah? I love you, Jason.




<-Sleepy Demigods!!! Oh, man, I love this drawing so much. Top is Jason and Liana. To the right is Kera and Milo, and on the bottom is Sasha and Alex (pre haircut Alex). I just realized all the girls are on the left (my left) and the boys are on the right (my right). Maybe that's because that's how Dev and I sleep? ^^

Day 26-31

I forgot to scan 25...so I'll do that tomorrow. It's just a boring headshot of Sasha because I was CRAZY tired that night and didn't want to draw at all but I did anyway.

This is going to be a total sketch dump, I'm very sorry!!! I've been doing more than one sketch a day...so have fun. Haha. I'll make them all small pictures. You can just click on them to make them bigger if you want to see details.


<-Day 26: Okay, Blogger. Let me freaking write this, okay? (this is my 3rd time writing the same thing! Halloween Jason and Alex. Dressed up as "each other". "Punk" and "Prep", though for reals it's more like "Emo" and "Indie". Oh well. The dialogue is funny.

Day 27->: Jason when he got captured. He was kidnapped during a piano concert he was playing, so he's in a torn tuxedo here.

<-Day 28: Concept sketches for a new char (like we need anymore, right?). He won't be debuting until the end of the 2nd book which won't happen for a little while now. His name is Nathan and I can't tell you who his godly parent is because that would give away way too much! ^^

Day 29->: Jason, and his spear Aníki̱tos (Greek word for "Invincible"), taking on Python. Jason's weapon is the spear of Achilles. It, too, has been dipped in the River Styx so it's indestructible. Anyway, this is a scene that just recently happened in the story. I used a ref for the snake, but I can't find the link :[. Oh, Jason, why do you have to be such a hero?

<-Day 30: Kera bust and KeraxMilo kiss. This was actually a really intense scene in the first book. You see, Kera and Milo were training and Milo learned the side effect of Kera's power, which is blindness. He says something along the lines of : "if I kissed you right now it would be that much more intense because your blind" and Kera's all like: "I dare you". Milo actually says he'll take the dare, but he won't do it right then and there because no matter how passionate or good the kiss was, Kera wouldn't like it because she convinced herself that she wouldn't.
So some things happen and some words are exchanged between Milo and Kera's step mom, where he basically, well, tells her off then goes off for a run. When he gets back, he pounds on Kera's bedroom door, and when she answers he pretty much attacks her with his lips. Like in the picture. Yeah.

Day 31->: Liana calender concept! I'm going to redo it because I usually draw her face rounder than it is here, and it didn't turn out exactly like I had planned. Her torso, legs, and arms make me happy, but her face doesn't. Though I LOVE the innocent sketchy and the winter Liana as well.

I can't believe I'm done with the monthly sketches. It's crazy. Of course I'm still going to do them...but it's weird knowing I don't have to. And now I can start sketching my other neglected chars as well! Hehehe. Keep a lookout for more stuff! I'll still be updating! :]

Day 22 extra, 23, & 24

So on Day 22, before I did the Alex SAI sketches, I did a scars ref...just for myself, but I thought I'd share it with you. If you notice, scars on 3 different people were caused by Alex. Poor boy.
Sasha only has those scars because she took them to the afterlife with her. Otherwise her healing ability would have healed them up right away because she was in water at the time. Also, BOOBS.










<-Day 23 & 24: I did them both on one sketchbook page, so I just posted it as is instead of chopping it up and whatnot. Mostly because I'm lazy.
Day 23: Jason looking up and the Jason/Liana sketch was done this day. I really enjoy both of them. Liana is so bloody adorable and Jason is just so awkward. Both expressions were fun to do (I <3 the "MINENOW" determination of Liana) but the heavily interactive pose was difficult. I hope I got it down okay. The looking up Jason, that was interesting to do. I told myself I wanted to do different perspectives, so I tried a 3/4 upwards because it gives me the most trouble. I don't know whether or not it's a true 3/4 upwards, it's still a different perspective than what I usually draw and I'm really happy with it.
Day 24: (lower left corner/lower middle sketch)You know how Alex has been giving me uber amounts of trouble? Yeah. He got a hair cut. I'll see if that makes any difference. There is an actual excuse to cut his hair, though. You see, Alex's grandfather bought him a little black crotch rocket for his 17th birthday and in order to minimize helmet hair, he got it cut. I really hope this will help with making him look a little bit older. It seemed to have worked in the sketch, yeah? Also notice the newly added cheek scar ^^;
(upper left corner) Greta. She's not being treated very well as you can see. I feel so bad for her.
(middle) Kera and Milo. Mostly as a filler, but partially because I've only really drawn them once. Haha. I've been drawing a lot of busts, so I wanted to do a full body! They're holding hands, btw.

Technically I only have a week left to do my daily sketches. I've really enjoyed doing them, even though they're a pain in the ass to do sometimes, like when I'm super tired or something. I have to say I'm especially pleased with my progress while doing them. I'm looking at my most recent sketches and I have to do a double take. I did that? Really? That's my work? Wow. Crazy.

If you continue to do something for a month, it becomes a habit. I'm already drawing more than one sketch a day, and I plan on drawing many, many more. After this challenge is over, I'm going to continue with the daily sketch, but I'll have more freedom. My other, older characters are getting jealous. Hehehe. Don't worry, these guys will show their faces. A lot.

Day 22

Have some Alex. I was trying to be more consistent with him. Not sure if it worked, but I got to practice more in SAI!

I really like the downward 3/4 a lot! He looks too sad in the profile. I was really trying to make him look angry. Oh well. Either is a staple expression for him.

Day 21

I'm kind of a cheater. I needed a ref of these two for a commission I bought, so I killed two birds with one stone and did it as my daily sketch as well.

I realized I prefer to draw Jason's hair from a 3/4 or profile standpoint. Straight on is a little difficult. We'll just say this is one of his calmer hair days. Haha. Liana is so bloody adorable in this picture! I love how awkward Jason is and I'm super happy with how his pose came out. Liana's too.

I'm really amazed on how much my style has changed within 4 short months.
<-here is a ref pic I did of Sasha and Alex for the same reason (commissioning someone). Crazy, huh? Lookit how much more movement there is in the Jason/Liana than there is in Sasha/Alex. I think it looks a lot more natural. I have to say I'm relatively pleased with myself! :]]

The real day 16, 19, & 20

<-The REAL Day 16: Something a little more riskayyy. Sasha/Alex makeouts. I'm relatively pleased on how well this came out and I'm sorry for the random hand in the corner. I drew more than one thing on the page. Haha. I love love LOVE how Alex came out. Enjoy the little bit of smexiness!

-> Day 19: More Sasha/Alexness. Natural interactive poses are kinda hard for me, so I thought I'd practice them. I like how this one turned out too. I just wish I'd stop making Alex look so freaking young!!! >_<

<- Day 20: Flexi-Liana. *sigh* I really don't like this one all together, but I do like her outstretched leg. I wanted to give her a little bit of a ballet look, even though she's never formally taken any ballet classes. All in all, her legs are too long and flexibility is freaking difficult to draw. Damn you female body for being so strange to draw >w<
