Day 18, techically

I realized I didn't scan in the original Day 16 sketch and I was too quick to post Day 17's digital sketches. I will get the real Day 16 soon, I swear! :]] I'm just too lazy to go and scan it right now.

Anyway, I decided to actually draw a scene from the story tonight. The group has to go to Elysium to find a soul to give them information and from the corner of her eye, Sasha sees a woman smiling at Alex. She recognizes the smile to be very similar to Alex's (when he does smile) and the woman is Alex's late mother, Helen (he lost her when he was 7; she died protecting him, hence why she is in Elysium), whom Hades has forbidden Alex to speak.

Alex sees what Sasha's gazing at and immediately runs towards his mother, which Milo has to stop (Hades threatened to kill Alex if he spoke to his Mom), leading to Alex punching him in the face. Milo then talks some sense into Alex and brings him back to the group. Sasha gets that determined look in her eye and tells Alex Hades told HIM not to talk to his Mom, but he said nothing about Sasha not talking to her and runs off to have a conversation with Helen. The end.

The scene is actually really intense and tear-jerking. I have this absolutely perfect song that I goes with the scene, but it's no longer on newgrounds, so I can't send you guys a link. I'M SORRY!

Did I mention I love SAI? Love it.

Day 16

Have a Greta sketch. I wanted to do something semi-full body because I've been doing a lot of busts and lazy stuff. So I tried to do something a little more difficult. Too bad it still looks lazy. Boo.

I was fairly pleased with my Eliot doodle, though. I told you guys before that he had heterochromia in his right eye, and I really wanted to color that so you guys could see what it actually looked like. I really enjoyed doing this sketcher because I think I did well with SAI. I'm slowly but surely getting better! As I said on dA, it's the fact that I need to not be afraid and not everything needs it's own layer like in Photoshop, which gives some really, really cool painting effects. I'm familiar with mixing and stuff because I actually paint. I think this is the beginning of a very, very happy relationship between me and SAI.

Now I really should go to bed because I'm not making sense and I have to work in the morning :[ Goodnight!

Day 13, 14, &15

Blogger is lame and won't let me upload images semi normally. Hopefully you can see the dates well enough and will be able to figure out from the descriptions which picture I'm talking about.

Sketch 13: I was being really lazy, so it's just a horribly unclean sketch of Kera's little brother, Hector. Not much else to say about that. Haha.

Sketch 14: Alex, Greta, and Eliot in kinda a chibi-ish style. Gah, Alex, I always draw you looking so young. Greta looks pretty good, though. And Eliot. I always see him as a hat wearer. Hehe. I'll leave the situation up to your imagination :]].

Sketch 15: Jason, again. He plays the piano. I drew him shirtless because I wanted to get better at toned male bodies. I think I did pretty well. Except his hips look really unnatural. Practice, practice practice!

Day 12

This is probably my favorite sketch that I've done so far. Jason and Liana are so ridiculously saccharine together!!! And like I've said before, though, I've done a lot of profiles this month so far.

Now, there's a pretty big age difference between these two which wasn't addressed until they already sort of had a relationship going. Bah, they're demigods, who cares, yeah? hahaha.

Surprisingly, Jason is super easy for me to draw. I love love love his hair. <3

Day 11

Alex. Doesn't he look like a happy guy? I made his neck a little too long, he looks almost chick-ish. I have no idea why, but this boy is such a freaking pain in the ass to draw. I can never get him right. I really just need to sit down and practice him. Just him because he's totally one of the main characters. His hair turned out okay, though.

His "wallet" chain is actually his Stygian sword, but mortals see it as a wallet chain because they can't process the truth. Haha.

Oh, Alex, please let me draw you decently one of these days.

Day 10

Liana is stretching! She's uber flexible and limber, so I thought she'd be fun to draw. I hope the anatomy looks okay~I think it looks proportional enough, at least. I'm pretty pleased with the dynamics of this sketch :] I should do more of these for practice, hehe.

Isn't she cute?

Day 9

-_- I still need to get better at hair. I feel kinda bad because I've just been doing busts and I'm super familiar with busts. I'm holding myself back in a way, I guess, but in a way, I'm not. I was trying to practice hair here and I feel like I should be doing more action/dynamic poses because that's what I need a lot of work on. Hmm. Maybe I should make a priority list of things I need to work on.

I still think Liana's adorable. Her hair isn't really that color but sort of similar. Blah. I'm tired and my post is confusing.

Goodnight!

Day 6,7, and 8

Day 6 ^: Stanley. I was practicing satyr legs. Goats are weird, weird creatures. I really like how Stanley's expression looks really gentle here. He can be such a jerk sometimes. I found that I've been drawing a lot of profiles with these sketches!

v Day 7: A Griffin. I don't know if it's supposed to be Tethro (Kera's griffin and the alpha griffin) or Rhoden (Hector's potential griffin). Or just a griffin. Devin and I were throwing out ideas of different griffins around, like ones that are smaller with mountain lion bodies or some that are bigger with bald eagle heads and whatnot. I think griffin's are so cool, I just have to get better at drawing the hybridness.

v Day 8: Greta. My first digital sketch with this batch! I'm trying to practice with SAI more, especially with hair. Rah, it looks so sloppy. Oh well. Just need practice. I love the program though. It's so bloody amazing! Gah! She's so freaking cute <3

Sorry for the bulk update. It was a busy weekend! Daily stuff should resume tomorrow :]

Day 5

Another Sasha. This time with Leif.
Leif is a half nightmare/half pegasus. So he can still breathe fire and doesn't look so grotesque like a full nightmare. His design is based on a very large black Frisian horse except he has red eyes and often has smoke billowing from his nostrils. Leif is kind of the strong, silent type.
Hmm...I think I need more proportion practice with horse/riders. Sasha looks a little big compared to how large I want Leif to be perceived as. Practice, practice, practice!

I think Alex was supposed to be in the scene too? Oops!

Day 4

Today I decided to do something a little more comedic.

Sasha's birthday (October 30th) came up in the story and Devin and I were discussing what Alex would get for her. We then started joking that he would take her to Red Lobster not knowing that they served seafood. So here's Sasha as she receives her steamed lobster :]]. Alex is probably cursing himself hardcore. Hahaha.

Day 3

I wanted to draw a more dynamic pose AND a full body today since I draw busts way too often. Haha. So here I drew Eliot nocking an arrow. The bow sucks bigtime (just need more practice), but I'm really pleased with the pose itself. Sketch took about 40 minutes.

Tidbit of info: I draw it, but it's hard to notice in the sketches: Eliot has heterochromia in his right eye. A quarter of it is brown and the rest is steel blue (along with his right eye). His twin, Tony, doesn't have that.

Day 2

Originally what I wanted to do with this sketch today was do a crossover of the rp chars and Harry Potter. I divided them all into their houses and it was fun. Then, about halfway through the sketches I realized I've never actually drawn all of our rp chars...so why make them Harry Potter? I'll just do a crossover some other time. Haha.

So here's all the major (and some minor-major) chars of our story. And they're in no particular order. For some reason when I drew, I kept drawing smaller and smaller. It's like an eye chart! :]]

I love how innocent Milo looks. And I really like how Alex came out too. And Stanley. Overall, I'm pretty pleased! For a two hour sketch I should be pleased, dammit.

Sasha and Greta are sisters, though Sasha's a demigod and Greta's mortal. Kera and Hector are siblings on their mother's (godess) side. Tony and Eliot are twins; same mother, same father (god). And Liana and Lacey are siblings on their father's (god) side too. And I can't forget...Stanley's a satyr.

Day 1

As I said on dA, I'm going to do a sketch a day for a month and all of the sketches will be based on the book(s) Devin and I are writing.

Sketch #1 is Kera and Milo and the quote (because it's kind of fuzzy) is "Would you believe me if I told you I loved you?" ~Milo
Dev and I wrote this today, so it was fresh in my mind.

Milo's hair is a pain. And Kera has a lip ring, if you were wondering what that thing on her lip was. Her arms may be a bit long, but I'm really, really pleased with how this came out. I mean, look at that HAND! <3

More to come!
